Aileen is a partner in the firm’s Litigation & Disputes practice group.
With a decade of experience in the field of commercial litigation, she has worked on a broad range of matters including shareholder disputes, defamation claims, mental capacity disputes, employment claims, intellectual property claims and enforcement at the courts, tribunal and registry levels, as well as claims in the Protection from Harassment Court.
Aileen advises a diverse client portfolio including domestic and international clients, multinational corporations, small-medium enterprises and private individuals. She has acted for clients in a broad spectrum of industries such as education, telecommunications, media, retail, pharmaceuticals, construction, food and beverage, hospitality, consumer products. Aileen also closely works with and advises liquidators on the insolvency process and in claims / applications before the General Division of the High Court.

Experience
SingNet Pte Ltd v. Composers and Authors Society of Singapore Ltd [2021] SGCRT 1, representing the successful party in defending an application in the Copyright Tribunal as to reasonableness of the applicable licence rate. Composers and Authors Society of Singapore Ltd v. SingNet Pte Ltd [2020] SGHC 220, representing the successful party in an application to the High Court for a determination on a question of law, which, among others, clarified the law as regards whether the Copyright Tribunal had the power to grant retrospective orders. BUV v BUU [ 2019] SGHCF 15, acting in a contested mental capacity application in the High Court which involved independent medical experts and resulted in a landmark decision in relation to the Mental Capacity Act. It was successfully argued that the will and lasting power of attorney were both tainted by undue influence and set aside. The person in question was found to be lacking mental capacity and in turn deputies were appointed. Representing and advising an institution of public character arts non-profit in enforcement and protection of its name and trade mark. Representing a multinational corporation with respect to tenancy and management disputes which involved several related and interested parties, involving several ongoing litigation proceedings. Representing an established medical supplier from claims of trade mark infringement and passing off in the High Court, which involved counterclaims as to bad faith. Representing an established education service provider with respect to cross-border franchise disputes involving foreign counsel.Languages
