Marina is a Partner of the firm. She was previously an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Disputes and Corporate & Commercial practice groups, and with her return to the firm she brings 10 years of valuable industry and sector knowledge, having spent her recent career as in-house legal counsel in the Energy and LNG sectors.

​This first hand practical experience gives Marina invaluable insight and know-how of how the industry works.

​Marina was APAC energy legal counsel at the world’s largest corporate buyer of renewable energy. She is very well-versed in structuring renewable energy agreements to suit the unique regulatory environments of various jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region. Marina is also adept at engaging with governments and government-owned entities in the Asia-Pacific region on carbon offsets, sustainability and power capacity delivery.

Apart from renewable energy, Marina has a broad range of experience in the LNG sector as well. Marina has led negotiations on behalf of multinational and local companies on agreements across the LNG value chain, including LNG sale and purchase agreements, terminal use agreements and gas supply agreements. Marina has also handled LNG price review negotiations and disputes on behalf of a joint venture led by a multinational oil and gas company.

Key highlights of Marina’s experience are:

Representing Amazon in its renewable energy agreement with Indonesia’s state-owned utility, a first-of-its-kind agreement for corporations to access additional utility-scale solar projects in Indonesia. Representing a multinational technology company in its renewable energy PPAs in various unique jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region, including India, Japan, Australia and Singapore. Representing a multinational company in its negotiations with carbon offset project developers and governments on the procurement of carbon offsets and the application of corresponding adjustments to carbon offsets under the Paris Agreement. Representing Temasek-owned Pavilion Energy in its winning bid for the Singapore Energy Market Authority licence to import LNG into Singapore. Representing multinational and local companies on their LNG sale and purchase agreements and LNG trading agreements with key LNG industry players. Representing multinational and local companies on their terminal use agreements with Singapore LNG Corporation, including throughput and storage & reload agreements. Representing multinational and local companies in structuring novel, complex, agreements for the self-supply of LNG volumes for downstream operations. Representing a joint venture led by a multinational oil and gas company in LNG price review negotiations and arbitrations. Representing multinational and local companies in electricity supply agreements and gas supply agreements.
