Career

Marina specialises in EU and international competition law, advising clients on a full range of competition law issues, including mergers and state aid.

With a wealth of experience in this area, Marina provides extensive and in-depth expertise in dealing with cartel investigations conducted by the European Commission, across a range of industry sectors, including banking, shipping, pharmaceuticals, and the food, automobile, energy and telecommunications sectors.

She assists companies with their compliance strategies by drafting competition guidelines and organizing training programs for investigations (dawn raids) tailored to the clients’ individual needs and advises on possible competition law issues arising in the context of commercial agreements.

Experience

Marina was the Director of the Legal Service of the Hellenic Competition Commission, where she had extended responsibilities including representation before European and international institutions (Directorate-General for Competition, OECD) and drafting and evaluating reports on antitrust and merger cases.

Over the past two decades she has written and published numerous articles and studies, she has lectured at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, and she has run training seminars for managers and lawyers on EU competition law issues.

Languages

Marina is fluent in Greek and has a professional working proficiency in English and French.
