Jay joined Melius in 2024, having qualified as a family solicitor in 2013 and having worked exclusively in family law, predominantly for the top-tier central London firm, Hughes Fowler Carruthers.

Jay has many years of experience advising UK and international clients on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce and associated financial disputes, children issues (such as living arrangements, contact, relocation and child abduction), cohabitation disputes and injunctive proceedings (such as applications for non-molestation and occupation orders).

Jay has particular expertise in dealing with high value financial cases, drafting complex separation agreements (pre-nuptial, post-nuptial, cohabitation) and working on matters involving allegations of domestic violence and child abuse.

Jay is skilled at handling sensitive and confidential issues and working in high pressurised environments. She has represented clients from a range of backgrounds including professionals, entrepreneurs and those in the public eye.

Jay’s strengths as a lawyer are in finding novel solutions to her client’s circumstances and in pursuing their interests diligently, in a considered yet efficient manner. Whilst she is committed to resolving cases out-of-court where possible, she is an experienced litigator – with meticulous preparation and attention to detail – and adept at using the court process where necessary.
