Martin Pichler specialises in capital markets, insurance, banking and securities regulatory law. His areas of expertise include regulatory and compliance (including data protection), AML and risk management.

Since 2017, he has been a lecturer at the University of Liechtenstein for the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Financial Market Law. In January 2023, Martin Pichler was appointed General Counsel of the Professional Association of Austrian Financial Service Providers at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. AKELA is the only law firm that is a member of the European Association of Payment Service Providers for Merchants (EPSM), an EU-wide interest group for payment service providers. Martin Pichler chairs the AML Compliance Working Group of the EPSM.
