Principal, Commercial Litigation Chair

Career

Jason is an accomplished business litigator, with significant experience also representing corporate policyholders in a wide range of insurance coverage disputes. He serves as chair of Much's Commercial Litigation group.

Previously, Jason served for five years as the Managing Partner of a highly regarded boutique business litigation firm and then served for five additional years as the Managing Partner of its successor firm's Chicago office. As a result, he understands the challenges of running a business and brings a practical, results-oriented approach to his work.

Jason has testified before juries and in arbitration as an expert witness on insurance issues, and he was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel. He is a regular speaker, author, and commentator on both business litigation and insurance topics, and he previously served as a regular contributor to CPA Insider, a publication of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

From 2017 to 2024, Jason served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association’s Chicago Chapter, and he previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Theater Company.

Jason has volunteered for the U.S. District Court Hibbler Memorial Pro Se Assistance Program and the Constitutional Rights Foundation’s Lawyers in the Classroom program. He was also a member of the IIT Chicago-Kent Career Strategies Task Force.

Leisure

Jason is an avid traveler and has visited approximately 60 countries on six continents.
