Regulation of Renewable Energy Sources in Uzbekistan: Encouraging Investment and Sustainable Development
Uzbekistan is actively developing a regulatory framework to encourage investment in renewable energy sources. The introduction of a simplified licensing procedure for renewable energy projects with a capacity of up to 200 MW has expedited administrative processes and increased the number of investment initiatives. In 2024, 12 new contracts were signed for the construction of solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 850 MW. Investment in the modernization of the power grid reached 1.2 billion USD.
