Associate

Mohaimen Q. Turki, a dedicated and accomplished lawyer, serves as an Associate at the Corporate Structuring Department of Muayad & Associates. With a robust background in international commercial arbitration and legal education, Mohaimen brings a fresh perspective and expertise to the firm. He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Al-Iraqia University, Baghdad, where he graduated in 2023, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in law.

Mohaimen’s early career was marked by active participation in prestigious international legal competitions, including the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. He was a team member for the 29th and 30th editions and later served as a coach for the 31st edition. In these roles, he developed and honed essential skills in legal analysis, argument development, legal writing, and oral advocacy. His experience includes preparing legal memorandums, presenting arguments before Arbitral Tribunals, and training students in legal research and advocacy.

Since joining Muayad & Associates in 2023, Mohaimen has been instrumental in assisting international companies with setting up their legal entities in Iraq and advising on commercial licensing matters. Additionally, he plays a key role in handling trademark issues, including registration, licensing, and renewal, ensuring that clients’ intellectual property rights are well protected.

Experience

Mohaimen has played a pivotal role in navigating complex arbitration cases and ensuring compliance with international legal frameworks such as the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards and the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration. His work extends to advising clients on the implications of international sales contracts, governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and UNIDROIT Principles.

In addition to his legal practice, Mohaimen has been instrumental in training and mentoring the next generation of legal professionals. He has organized and conducted workshops, including one on post-graduation career opportunities, demonstrating his commitment to legal education and professional development.
