Kazım Yiğit Akalın graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law and was admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association in 2006.

Mr. Akalın’s practice is highly varied. In the criminal sphere, Mr. Akalın advises clients on a wide variety of regulatory issues and criminal allegations. His broad experience ensures him to advise his clientele on various criminal-related matters including corporate crimes, competition disputes, shareholder disputes, organized crimes with international dimensions, fraud and forgery, white collar crimes, defamation crimes, tax evasion and environmental crimes.

Mr. Akalın recently focused on cybercrime issues including the man in the middle attacks, phishing attacks, the theft of information by employees and competitors and privacy violations.

In this scope, Mr. Akalın has participated in multinational criminal procedures and civil lawsuits linked to criminal charges in different jurisdictions such as Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Hong Kong and China in collaboration with his local colleagues. Along with following up the criminal proceedings, he also deals with the recovery of the defrauded funds by using his experience in the field and wide range of international partners.

Since the beginning of his career, he has been actively involved in high-profile cases in Turkey, demonstrating his commitment and skill in managing the complexities of Criminal Law.

Mr. Akalın has also served as Vice President of the Turkish Criminal Law Association, demonstrating his dedication to furthering and clarifying criminal law principles amongst legal professionals. He has authored many publications in Turkish criminal law journals and national newspapers pertaining to execution law, criminal procedural law, organizational crimes and fraud crimes.
