Career
Abdul commenced the practising period of pupillage in March 2024 following the successful completion of his non-practising period. He is supervised by Wendy Banks. As a pupil, Abdul has gained experience in all of Chambers’ core practice areas, including Civil Litigation, Lender Services, Insurance Services, Personal Injury, Housing and Insolvency. He has gained a significant level of experience during pupillage in work arising from Consumer Credit claims involving undisclosed commission and unfair relationships.
Abdul previously worked as an Advocate at LPC Law, during which time he regularly attended the County Court, building strong relationships with instructing solicitors and lay clients. Prior to this, Abdul worked for the Transport Infrastructure Planning Unit at the Department of Transport where he was responsible for managing planning consent applications brought pursuant to the Transport and Works Act 1992 and the Planning Act 2008. This work involved providing advice to the Secretary of State for Transport as to the merits and issues presented by nationally significant proposed infrastructure schemes. Abdul remains interested in Planning and Public Law and continues to stay up to date with developments in these areas.

In his spare time, Abdul enjoys reading classics, going to the theatre, fine-dining and listening to classical compositions. He also engages in philanthropic work and is the treasurer of Bridging the Bar, a charity that supports aspiring barristers from underrepresented groups.
