Career

Adrian Smith’s practices spans all of Chambers’ Practice Areas and he is regularly instructed on matters in the High Courts and County Courts throughout England and Wales, by some of the largest law firms and financial institutions.

Adrian enjoyed a varied career before turning to Law, working in local radio and for BBC Radio 1 as well as setting up a small business in Sheffield. After completing the Bar Vocational Course and being called to the Bar in 2006, Adrian represented both Claimants and Defendants in a wide range of Civil Litigation matters in the County Courts. To date, Adrian has attended in excess of 7,000 hearings.

After cross-qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010 Adrian spent time working for a national Law Firm specialising in Banking and Finance Litigation. Adrian also spent time working at Lloyds Banking Group as an in-house Solicitor and in January 2017 he obtained his Higher Rights in Civil Proceedings. Adrian then cross-qualified back to practice at the Bar in 2019.
