Wendy Banks

Position

Barrister (Year of Call: 2019)

Career

Wendy has over 20 years experience having worked as both a Solicitor and Barrister. She is a Pupil Supervisor and is part of Chambers' Pupillage Committee. Wendy has extensive experience in claims arising from motor finance agreements. She is a highly experienced commercial and personal injury litigant, with a passion for client service. She understands the constraints of legal practice that Solicitors work under. Having worked in client-facing roles for much of her legal career, she adopts a personable approach to building rapport, understanding what both the client and the solicitor wants and how she can assist them.

Wendy thrives on the variety of cases she is instructed on and the challenge of successfully defending her clients in court. She regularly appears in County Courts as well as the Royal Courts of Justice, including the High Court. Using her client-facing, Solicitor background, she adopts a ‘plain English’ approach to speaking clearly and keeping arguments simple and succinct so that judges, clients and everyone understands the legal position.

Wendy also specialises in representing banks and creditors defending claims of alleged undisclosed commission and mis-sold PPI, both at Dispute Resolution Hearings and Final Trial Stage.
