Suhartati is a partner of Martin Suryana & Associates, advocate, and legal consultant. She is an active member of the International Bar Association – The Criminal Law Committee, The Academic and Professional Development Committee, member of Masyarakat Hukum Pidana dan Kriminologi Indonesia (Mahupiki), member of the Indonesian Lawyers’ Association (PERADI) DPC Surabaya, and Ikatan Advokat Indonesia DPC Surabaya.

Suhartati’s excellent competency in criminal business law has brought her to a career as a lecturer at the Law Faculty of Universitas Surabaya since 2002. She is also actively invited to national and international seminars as a speaker. Since 2013, she was invited to speak in The Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Other than that, she was also featured in Research Handbook on International Financial Crime in the United Kingdom and the USA. Her numerous journals have been published on national and international platforms (Scopus index), including international conference proceedings.

Suhartati graduated from the Law Faculty of Universitas Surabaya in 1999 as a cumlaude graduate (Bachelor’s Programme). In 2001, she graduated from her Master’s Program at Universitas Surabaya as a cumlaude graduate. Later in 2012 she successfully obtained her Ph.D. in law at Universitas Airlangga also with honor (cumlaude). In the same year, she was rewarded for her academic achievement from the Indonesian Lawyers’ Association (PERADI) DPC Surabaya and an appreciation from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).
