Career

Carl joined the firm in 1995, known then as Neil Myerson & Co and became a Partner in 1999.

As CEO, Carl is responsible for leading the firm’s business strategy, vision, culture, people management and business support functions, providing strategic guidance to all fee earning and non-fee earning departments.

He leads the Board, Partners, Heads of Department and Business Services Managers to advance client and employee engagement, developing high performing managerial and exceptional client service delivery teams.

Demonstrating his strong leadership, Carl focuses on investing in people and democratising various functions throughout the firm, enabling employee participation.  This has positively impacted the culture of the firm, the motivation of its people and thus its performance.

Carl has significantly bolstered the profile and reputation of Myerson within the professional services industry, championing the brand and engendering an entrepreneurial spirit within the firm to create smart, efficient and flexible working practices, which in turn generate a positive working environment.  He successfully introduced the firm’s operating system (EOS, inspired by the book Traction, Gino Wickman) which has enabled Myerson to further improve its collegiate way of working with a focus on providing efficient, transparent leadership and accountability to its clients as a trusted advisor.

Prior to becoming the Firm’s Managing Partner and then CEO, Carl was for many years the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Department at Myerson.  After gaining a first-class honours degree from Lancaster University and first-class honours on the Law Society Finals course, he trained at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester and joined Myerson as a Corporate/Commercial lawyer in 1995.

Carl not only champions the industry of law at Myerson but is also a non-executive director of the UK 200 group, mentoring and inspiring other law and accountancy firms from across the UK.  (The UK 200 group is made of independent chartered accountants, and law firms with connections around the world aiming to ‘build a better together’).
