Career

Will specialises in non-contentious development, construction and engineering, and infrastructure matters, particularly in the UK, Middle East and Africa.

He is a registered lawyer in England and Wales (Law Society) and Dubai (The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department).

Will is highly experienced at advising on: standard forms of contract including NEC, JCT, ICE, GC/Works, ACE, FIDIC and EDF, MAC and ASC; and bespoke agreements in relation to development agreements, construction contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, parent guarantees, alliance agreements; joint venture agreements and other associated documentation; and various forms of PPP, PFI and LIFT projects.

He has particular expertise in the highways and rail sectors, and advises on a wide range of other areas including education, energy, health, hotels, offices, retail, mixed user commercial/retail and residential developments, stadia, data centres, airports, marine and water.

Having advised on various disputes in the early stages of his career, Will regularly provides pre-dispute advice and advises on contractual issues as part of the dispute resolution process. He also continues to liaise with his colleagues specialising in dispute resolution in order to provide a ‘cradle to grave’ service for the firm’s clients.

Will’s practice has a significant international dimension having advised on projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Will’s recent international projects have been in Kenya, Qatar, Libya, Malawi, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates.

Will has a monthly section in Lexis Nexis’ Construction Law journal, which examines the latest court rulings relating to construction and engineering. He is also a regular contributor of articles to various trade press, including Construction Law.
