Position

Mark Jones is a partner in our Dispute Resolution department. Mark specialises in criminal and regulatory defence work and investigations for both individuals and corporates. His work is often multi-jurisdictional as well as often being complex and high profile. He regularly deals with clients who have complex problems which require a multi-disciplinary approach.

Mark’s  practice covers matters being investigated and prosecuted by a wide range of authorities such as the SFO, FCA, HMRC and CPS as well as other regulators. He advises from the outset of matters and is able to devise a bespoke strategy for his clients. Often Mark’s matters involve multiple jurisdictions and he is able to marshal the required expertise to offer clients a seamless service.

In addition to his white-collar practice, Mark conducts internal investigations for corporates concerning whistleblowing or alleged wrongdoing, as well as representing employees in internal investigations and interviews. With experience of reviewing and drafting compliance policies and procedures for corporate clients, Mark has significant experience across the business crime and compliance practice area. He regularly provides training to clients on compliance areas such as anti-money laundering, the facilitation of tax evasion and bribery and corruption.

Mark also acts for victims of crime, assisting them through the criminal justice system and working alongside civil lawyers where applicable. This experience also extend the private prosecutions on behalf of the victims of crime. Mark often works with our Privacy & Media Team to ensure that clients have the benefit of a strategic approach to their position.
