Career

Maria began her legal career at a top-tier boutique family law firm in Nottingham. She joined our Nottingham office in November 2018 and transitioned to our Yorkshire team, specifically the Sheffield office, in July 2020.  Over the years, she has built a strong reputation for her exceptional client care, assertive approach, and professionalism.

Maria has significant experience in family law, advising clients on matters such as separation, divorce, nuptial agreements, and cohabitation agreements. She is skilled in handling financial settlements, including issues related to pre-acquired and post-separation assets, spousal maintenance, business assets, pensions, and proceedings under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.

Maria also has extensive experience in child law, particularly in cases involving Child Arrangements Orders. She has handled complex cases with issues like domestic violence, substance misuse, parental conflict, allegations of parental alienation, and cases requiring a Rule 16.4 Guardian. She is adept at managing cases related to the removal of children from the jurisdiction and determining the appropriate international jurisdiction.
