Position

Toby is a dispute resolution and litigation partner based in London. He specialises in insurance and reinsurance with a focus on energy (onshore and offshore), marine, power, mining, property and political risk/violence claims.

Toby has significant experience advising energy insurers/reinsurers in respect of claims under construction and operational policies. He also advises insurers/reinsurers on political risk and political violence claims in various jurisdictions.

Toby has an in-depth understanding of the practical and commercial aspects affecting the handling of claims and litigation, having spent time on two secondments in the London market.

The contentious insurance practice at RPC, led by Simon Laird, continues to act for notable insurers in high-profile financial lines, property and international risk cases, covering a wide range of issues including D&O, BBB, EPL and W&I insurance. The international risks team is led by Toby Savage and handles energy, aviation, marine, political risk and trade credit disputes.
