Kate is a highly experienced insurance and reinsurance litigator. She is a specialist in brokers’ errors and omissions claims and has extensive experience in defending professional negligence claims against various leading international insurance brokers, including claims involving multi-million-pound property damage and business interruption losses.

Kate has acted for brokers, insurers and reinsurers in high value and high profile coverage and commercial disputes across a range of complex product lines, including aviation and D&O liability.

Work highlights 

Advising brokers in respect of their obligations to aircraft lessors and lessees and their ability to provide brokering services and claims handling to these parties, in view of sanctions imposed on financial services following the invasion of Ukraine. This advice includes responding to third party disclosure applications made against brokers by parties to the aviation coverage claims which are being litigated in the Commercial Court.

Acting for a leading market broker in relation to the defence of a £12+ million professional negligence claim relating to the placement of a liability policy.

Acting on behalf of an international insurer in a high value reinsurance coverage dispute in respect of claims made under various reinsurance treaties for covid related business interruption losses.
