Position
Thalej Vasishta is a senior solicitor specialising in corporate immigration law. He works primarily with UK companies wishing to employ skilled foreign nationals and overseas companies and individuals seeking to invest in or trade with the UK.
Thal also heads up the Brexit Group at the firm. Thal's work has included advising several large businesses, which are dependent on migrant workers and on their people strategy post Brexit. He has been active training organisations, businesses and trade associations on immigration issues related to Brexit and immigration.
Career
Trained and set-up the immigration department at Berryman (now Shakespeare Martineau) and founded Paragon Law in 2003 following the MBO of the immigration department of Berryman.
Thal currently advises businesses on sponsor licence applications and implementation of HR systems and processes for UKVI audits. His work includes challenging and overturning both UKVI decisions revoking sponsor licences and civil penalty notices. His client list includes several blue chip and niche companies from a diverse range of sectors including retail, oil, education, electronic- sports, gaming, pharmaceutical, construction, hospitality & leisure and technology.
Thal also manages the firm's inbound international business immigration work. This includes advising overseas companies wanting to set-up subsidiaries in the UK and the associated transfer of key staff. He is an excellent writer and communicator and can quickly provide verbal or written advice and handle your case or project, which has an immigration law angle, to conclusion.
Areas Of Work Advise businesses on how they can navigate the points based immigration system and employ skilled workers from overseas. Advise and assist businesses to apply for a sponsor licence. Evaluate Brexit’s impact on immigration and its implications for businesses in the UK and Europe. Review and implement HR systems and processes to ensure companies remain compliant with sponsorship duties and responsibilities. Assess the implications for companies with offices outside of the UK and advise overseas companies with business visitor applications and setting up UK subsidiaries. Advise overseas entrepreneurs and investors on the right visa to commence operations in the UK.Languages
