Position

Emma is the head of the Personal and Family Immigration department, established as a director and Solicitor at Paragon Law. Specialising in representing clients for family and personal immigration matters. She has extensive experience in all aspects of immigration law and in particular family and private life applications (both in country and entry clearance applications). Emma has special interest in complex nationality matters and has represented clients both within and outside the UK.

In addition, Emma works closely with various local authorities in resolving immigration matters relating to children in care and victims of domestic abuse. Emma was instrumental in setting up a monthly pro bono immigration advice surgery service for users of Nottingham Citizens Advice Bureau- the advice surgery has been running for over 7 years.

Career

Emma joined Paragon Law in September 2012 as a Senior Caseworker. She subsequently trained as a Solicitor and qualified on 3 April 2017, in 2022 Emma was made a Director at Paragon Law. Prior to joining Paragon Law, Emma trained and worked as a Senior Caseworker for Refugee and Migrant Justice (2009 to 2010).

A dedicated, client orientated solicitor, in which throughout her work, Emma Okenyi ensures clients are kept updated during the application process and breaks down the legal jargon to allow for maximum understanding.

Areas Of Work

Emma advises individuals and families on all aspects of UK immigration law and nationality, expertly guiding clients through the complexities of family visa applications, including partner, parent, child, and adult dependent relative visas, as well as applications for victims of domestic violence. In addition to managing applications for naturalisation (British citizenship) and citizenship registration, Emma specialises in resolving complex nationality matters. She is also highly experienced in handling immigration appeals at both the First-tier and Upper Tribunals, providing comprehensive representation throughout the appeals process to ensure the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Entry Clearance Spouse visa. Advising individuals on all aspects of UK immigration law and nationality. Helping families to navigate the complex requirements of family visas including the partner visa, parent visa, child visa, adult dependent relative visa, and victim of domestic violence applications. Applications for naturalisation (British citizenship applications), citizenship registration and other complex nationality matters.
