Andy is a partner in the corporate group, he is also head of the media and music sector. He deals with a range of corporate law matters including acquisitions and sales of companies and businesses, investments, reorganisations, shareholder agreements and exits and general advisory work. Andy also specialises in music and media including recording and publishing contracts, management agreements and general music industry advisory work. In addition, he deals with agreements in respect of the exploitation of intellectual property rights, terms of business, book publishing, digital rights and management.
Anita is a partner in the family law team. She manages a diverse caseload of divorce, finances and private child law related work. Having worked at firms in and out of Manchester City Centre, Anita has a breadth of experience from high net worth casefiles involving cross-jurisdictional issues and prominent clients, to child abduction issues, to matters requiring careful calculation and creative solutions.
Charlie Wood is a senior associate solicitor in the Employment Team at SAS Daniels LLP – based out of the Stockport and Chester offices. Charlie is experienced in all areas of employment law and HR and regularly advises on contracts of employment, settlement agreements, disciplinaries, performance management, TUPE, redundancy, unfair dismissal and discrimination. Charlie also advises a range of organisations under SAS Protect – a fixed-price employment law and HR support service.

Helen heads up our trusts team, assisting clients with setting up, administering, varying and terminating all different types of trusts.
Helen is a partner and head of the estate administration team and Congleton office, specialising in private client work, in particular estate administration and probate issues. She advises on inheritance tax issues for estates, intestacies, deeds of variation and advice to beneficiaries. Helen has extensive experience in matters for estates with foreign assets, agricultural and business issues and where assets have been left to charities.
Jeremy Orrell is the Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Corporate team. Jeremy has substantial experience of an array of corporate transactions of all sizes including mergers and acquisitions, MBOs and MBIs, reorganisations, joint ventures, partnership and shareholder matters for multinational companies, owner- managed businesses and not-for-profit sector organisations including housing associations, industrial and provident societies, charities and local authorities. Jeremy’s deals of note have included the merger of Oldham Business Management School with the University of Huddersfield, a £100m limited partnership joint venture for City of Salford, £140m sale of Thorn Security to Tyco Inc ,£140m sale of Excel Polymers to Hexpol and the sale of Premier Care to Cera Care.
Justine is a partner and head of the Private Client team. Justine specialises in wills and wealth planning and older and vulnerable client work having developed a keen interest in these areas early on in her career. She has substantial experience in an array of Court of Protection work and acts as deputy and attorney for numerous incapacitated clients. Justine is a member of STEP and a member and director of Solicitors for the Elderly (a national organisation which promotes best practice for lawyers specialising in advising the elderly client) and is the former chair of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
Kathryn is a dispute resolution associate working out of SAS Daniels' Chester office. She advises both private individuals and commercial businesses on a range of different disputes including, contractual disputes, contentious probate disputes, property disputes, (both residential and commercial) defamation claims and professional negligence matters.
Katie is a partner and head of employment, specialising in all areas of employment law such as discrimination, restructure and redundancy, disciplinary & grievance, TUPE and employment status.
Kaye is a partner in the corporate team and the heads up the Chester office and the firms commercial offering. She has considerable experience in advising owner managed businesses on a range of corporate matters including acquisitions, disposals and constitutional structures. Kaye works with a range of professional businesses throughout the North West and has a particular interest in the preparation and negotiation of complex high value commercial agreements. Named Business Woman of the Year at the Chester Women in Business Awards, and named in the North West Women of Influence list in NW Insider.
Nicola has over 35 years’ experience of all property matters, particularly dealing with residential development sites including the acquisition of the same and setting up the plot sales to ensure that there are no issues with future sales. She has dealt with nationwide large schemes but also for developers on bijou schemes in town centres. She has recently dealt with a number of sites nationwide with nutrient neutrality issues in relation to the planning permission and has learned methods to deal with same. Nicola has specific experience in social housing sites and in dealing with statutory agreements particularly Section 106 Agreements. She has worked for local authorities, registered charitable providers as their in-house lawyer and for law firms, having been a partner in the same for many years.

Nigel acts for a national clothing retailer and a franchise company for a nationwide chain of sandwich shops so has considerable experience in a wide range of Landlord and Tenant matters involving business parks, shopping centres and industrial estates.
Paul is a Partner in the Corporate team. He has a broad experience of acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations and MBO and MBI transactions. He acts primarily for owner-managed businesses across a variety of sectors. Paul’s recent deals of note include the purchase of the business and assets of Dawsons Music from administration, the MBO of HMK Automation Limited, the sale of Datastor Systems Limited to Valsoft Corporation Inc and the sale of Force Information Systems Limited to Harris Computer Corporation.
Ray is a former teacher who qualified as a solicitor in 1989. He has spent most of his career working as a commercial litigator with wide experience across many areas of law. This includes property litigation, landlord and tenant, freezing injunctions, probate disputes, shareholders’ and company disputes, education, planning and also a wide range of Chancery litigation in what is now referred to as the Business and Property Courts. Ray was a Times Justice Awards Nominee in 1996 for bringing the case of Cheltenham & Gloucester v Norgan to the Court of Appeal and other notable Court of Appeal cases involving the banking sector.
Shelley Chesworth is a partner and head of the Family team. She is experienced in all areas of matrimonial and family law, particularly in complex financial cases and representing children in public and private law matters. Vicky is a partner specialising in Wills and wealth planning with a particular focus on business owners, including farming businesses. She also advises upon the creation of trusts, including disabled persons trusts, and assists clients with estate administration.
