In criminal litigation, he focuses on criminal procedures and white collar criminal defense. In the area of tax litigation, Mr. Cho is an expert on general tax consulting, tax audit and dispute resolution, finance tax, corporate tax, transfer pricing and customs. Finally, in administrative litigation, his practice focuses on labor and employment cases and health cases.
Before joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Cho served in the Korean judiciary for 15 years. He served as a judge in the Seoul High Court, Seoul Administration Court, Tongyeong Branch of Changwon district Court, Seoul District Court, Incehon Distric Court, and Uijungbu Branch of Seoul District Court. He was the presiding judge of the Suwon District Court and the Supreme Court of Korea, and served as judge advocate in the Republic of Korea Army. During his tenure as a judge, he accumulated extensive experience in a wide range of tax, customs, civil, criminal and administrative litigation as well as in appeals before the Supreme Court.
Mr. Cho has authored various publications, including several published by The Office of Court Administration, the Supreme Court Library, and the Seoul National University Finance Act Center.
Mr. Cho graduated from the College of Law at Yonsei University in 1989. He also attended the Graduate School of Law in Yonsei University and the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea. He is admitted to the Korea bar and can read in Japanese apart from Korean and English.
