Chanyeon Hwang is a certified public accountant at Kim & Chang.

He specializes in areas of general tax consulting, mergers & acquisitions, cross-border transactions and foreign direct investment.

With twenty three years of practice in international and domestic tax matters, Mr. Hwang has developed practical experience and expertise in a variety of tax issues and practices, including mergers and acquisitions, tax treaty issues, tax audit assistance, resolution of tax controversies, tax rulings, and legislative advisory. He further advises on tax related issues on setting up and restructuring Korean operations of multinational companies and foreign operations of Korean multinational companies. He has extensive experiences advising foreign and Korea multinational companies focusing on cross-border transactions, merger and acquisition transactions and restructuring transactions, specializing in auto, technology, semiconductor, software, pharmaceutical and construction industries.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Hwang worked at Ernst & Young Korea from 2000 to 2014 and was a partner at Ernst & Young Korea for 7 years focusing on business tax advisory services and with role of global tax account leader for a Korean multinational company including Samsung.

Mr. Hwang received a MBA from the Manchester Business School, the UK, in 2005 and a B.S. from Sung Kyun Kwan University, College of Business and Economy in 1994. He is a certified public accountant in Korea.
