Career

Young Kim is a senior partner at Kim & Chang, and practices all aspects of intellectual property law, specializing particularly in patent law. Ms. Kim has handled numerous landmark patent cases, including Supreme Court cases involving issues of indirect infringement, doctrine of equivalents, description requirements for a pharmaceutical invention and patentability of a selection invention. She has also handled many patent infringement cases involving pharmaceuticals, biotech, polymers, optical products, glasses and various electronic materials and structures.

In addition to extensive private practice, Ms. Kim serves on the ICANN’s Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Committee of WIPO, the International Arbitration Forum (NAF), and Asian Domain Dispute Resolution Center.

Ms. Kim is the author of several publications, including WIPO’s publication for Korean patent law. She also published numerous articles in BNA’s World Intellectual Property Report and the Patent World.

Ms. Kim has been a guest speaker at various intellectual Property conferences including IPO, AIPLA and AIPPI, and a lecturer for programs at the International Intellectual Property Training Institute in Seoul, Korea.
