Career

Jong Hyun Park is an attorney in Kim & Chang’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Securities Practices.

Mr. Park has extensive experience advising publicly and privately held multinational and Korean companies and financial institutions in a wide range of cross-border and domestic transactions, including share and asset purchases, joint venture, corporate governance and securities.

Mr. Park’s representative work in recent years includes assisting major domestic and multinational private equity funds in their acquisitions of shares in Korean companies and advising major domestic companies on corporate governance matters including hostile takeover.

Mr. Park has co-authored publications related to private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and securities regulation, including the “PLC Private Equity and Venture Capital Multi-jurisdictional Guide 2014/15 - Private Equity Country Q&A: South Korea section” (Thomson Reuters, 2014), “European Lawyer Reference - Mergers & Acquisitions (First edition): South Korea chapter” (Thomson Reuters, 2012) and “Recent developments in the short sale rule and bank/bank holding company ownership in Korea, International Investment & Securities Review 2009” (Euromoney Yearbooks, 2009).

Mr. Park received an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2007 and an LL.B. from the Seoul National University College of Law in 1994. He attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1998. He is admitted to the Korea bar.
