Career

Ie Hwan Yoo is an attorney at Kim & Chang’s finance and capital markets practices. Mr. Yoo has extensive experience in various financing transactions, securities and bank regulations, regulatory compliance, securities-related litigations, establishment and licensing of securities companies, and asset management companies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Yoo has been actively involved in many financing transactions in Korea or those relating to Korean businesses such as structured financing, acquisition financing, ship financing and real-estate financing transactions. He represents a broad range of multinational commercial banks, investment banks, investment funds and securities companies on various financing transactions, capital markets and other projects.

Furthermore, he has extensive experience advising clients on issues relating to securities and bank regulations as well as regulatory compliance.

Mr. Yoo has co-authored the Korea Annual Review 2012: Banking & Finance Chapter. He has also lectured on legal issues on non-registered asset-backed transactions at the Seoul National University Financial Law Center in 2008.

He received an LL.M. in securities and financial regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2011 and a B.A. from the School of Economics in Seoul National University in 2002. He also attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2004.

He is admitted to the Korean bar.
