Wai Mun heads the firm’s real estate practice and believes in strategic big-picture thinking when providing specific legal insight to any issue or advice required.

Since his early years in practice, he has adopted a broad-based approach in developing his technical skills and legal experience in servicing the best interests of his clients.

After more than 15 years of varied experience in civil and family litigation, corporate commercial and corporate real estate work and private clients practice, his focus is now centered primarily on real estate work with related commercial and private clients advisory work.

Some of Wai Mun's notable transactions:

Appointed as general counsel to advise and act for the land concession owner and main developer of a Specific Economic Zone in Laos. Acted and advised in the negotiations for the acquisition of China Square Central by with leaseback to the vendor as master tenant and simultaneous listing of a REIT on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Acted for a REIT and advised in negotiations for the acquisition of an office building cum commercial and retail complex for $370 million. Acted for a REIT manager to negotiate the acquisition and leaseback of SGX Centre. Acting and advising in the negotiations for the acquisition of shopping mall cum office complex and the corporate entity that owned the asset.

Education

Chan Wai Mun graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1991.
