Obtained the LL.B. degree from the University of Delhi in 1990. Selected to the Indian Forest Service and a Group A Civil Service in 1991. Briefly served in the Indian Forest Service and, thereafter, joined the Bar.

Associated with the law chambers of Valmiki Mehta (at present a judge of the High Court of Delhi) and thereafter with Vijay Phadke, an Indian lawyer based in Paris.  From 2001 to 2005 was associated with Lexindia, a law firm with offices in London, Paris and New Delhi. Appeared for a European MNC and managed one of the largest international commercial arbitrations in India.

Joined Dua Associates in 2005 and became Partner in 2006.

Have been teaching a course in Indian Law at the University of Würzburg, Germany, since 2007.
