Senior Associate 

Robin joined DTM Legal as a senior associate in 2019 from the Manchester office of an international legal practice.

Robin has a broad expertise within the real estate industry, specialising in advising clients within the retail, leisure (hotels and pubs), corporate landlord and occupier sectors.  Robin advises on development, acquisitions, disposals and estate portfolio management work.  He has been involved with some of the UK’s largest retail and hotel brands in their new-build development programs, providing both strategic and site-specific advice.  He has also acted for individual developers on a variety of mixed use schemes, and has advised individuals and pension funds on property investment work.

Robin has spent part of his career to date working as in-house counsel for several well-recognised national retailers, advising on a variety of corporate support work but also on property finance matters and landlord and tenant issues, including on lease renewals and associated issues.  Robin was in-house property counsel at the Tote during the sale by the government to Betfred.  Robin prides himself on providing pragmatic and straightforward advice and working collaboratively with clients to provide solutions quickly to save time and costs.

Clients have commented recently on Robin’s approach as being proactive, able to explain complex matters in a clear and calm manner, and being able to add value by suggesting innovative solutions to overcome specific obstacles.  Robin has been recognised as a “recommended lawyer” in the last 2 editions of the Legal 500.
