Position
Gao Yifeng's practice areas include International Trade, Commercial Contracts, Shipping, Transportation and logistics, Insurance, Real Estate Matters, FDI and Corporate Matters, Litigation and Arbitration, etc. He has handled and supervised over 15 hundred arbitration and litigation cases. Most of the cases are foreign-related. The clientele that he has served includes major international commercial groups, shipping companies, trading companies, insurance companies, P&I Clubs, product manufacturers and investment entities, etc. He has acted as legal counsel and an attorney for clients in over 500 court cases and over 600 arbitration proceedings. He has acted as counsel for clients or PRC legal expert in arbitrations before ICC, CIETAC, SCC, HKIAC, SIAC, LMAA and CMAC, etc. and has given legal opinions before courts in various jurisdictions. He has also served as an arbitrator or the presiding arbitrator in about 400 cases at CIETAC, ICC,CMAC and BAC. Through academic researches and legal practice for over 37 years, he has intimate knowledge of the laws of the PRC Mainland and the relevant international norms and practice. On quite a number of occasions in respect of international court litigations, he has given expert reports or opinions in English on the laws of the PRC Mainland. He has been nominated for consecutive years by a number of international legal publications such as Chambers Asia Pacific, Chambers Global, Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Asialaw & Profiles as an “eminent practitioner” and leading lawyer in the areas of arbitration and shipping in China.
