Career

Simon is a 20 year plus pqe solicitor with considerable experience of all aspects of commercial and residential investment and development, including acting for institutional lenders in a property finance role, for insolvency practitioners in distressed asset sales, and all types of landlord and tenant transactions including acting for occupiers, all aspects of asset management including acting for Landlords in managing several shopping centres, and has recently gained experience of acquiring portfolios of residential properties from major house builders, and acting for a private petrol station company on various acquisitions sales and management.

Recent experience includes

•Acted for Legacy Portfolio in a "ground breaking" deal surrendering 168 leasehold liabilities under a management agreement with Wolseley Plc •Led a team acting for Harwood Real Estate from Aprirose on an acquisition of an industrial and office portfolio of 20 properties for in excess of £65m, funded by DRC Capital •Assisted as part of a team for Harwood Real Estate on an acquisition of a residential portfolio of 1300 properties for in excess of £150m from the Co Op •Assisted as part of a team for Harwood Real Estate on an acquisition of a mixed use commercial portfolio of 41 properties from the Co Op for in excess of £120m, funded by Barclays, with ongoing management and subsequent disposals •Acted for a small private equity house on an acquisition of a residential portfolio of more than 360 properties, 90% let, and subsequent sales on including the setting up of the suite of documents required •Acted for the Liebherr family to purchase Southampton F.C out of administration •Assisted in acquiring a £1bn portfolio of petrol stations in 2018 for a private equity funded private petrol station operator (the largest single non tied petrol station deal) •With funding from local government pension funds, assisted in acquiring £3bn+ of new build residential property for an affordable housing provider
