Position

Tom is a legal director in the Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team. Tom has previous experience working within a global legal practice as well as working within the legal arm of the one of the ‘Big Four’ professional services firms.

Tom acts for lenders, insolvency practitioners, distressed investors, corporates and directors in relation to all aspects of transactional restructuring, insolvency law and financial restructurings.

Tom has worked on a number of high-profile insolvencies locally and nationally in sectors such as retail, manufacturing and automotive, ranging from early options and contingency planning through to administration pre-packaged sales/purchases and trading administrations. Tom looks to lean on his experience of managing both solvent and insolvent re-organisation projects, nationally and internationally, to provide solutions across the full corporate lifecycle.

Career

Tom worked in Sydney, Australia in 2017. Upon leaving DLA Piper, Tom joined KPMG Law’s Corporate Deals and Structuring team in 2019 and was promoted to Director in 2021. Tom joined Shoosmiths as a Legal Director in 2023.

Education

Tom graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Birmingham, undertook his legal practice course at the University of Law and trained at DLA Piper before qualifying there in 2010.
