Career

Jian Dong joined Global Law Office in 2018. Prior to joining GLO, Jian Dong served as a presiding judge in a Beijing court. After that, Jian Dong worked as a senior associate in a well-known law firm, and then as the legal director in the Dispute Resolution Department in a large financial investment group.

Position

Jian Dong has extensive experience in dispute resolution. He represented clients in a considerable number of commercial arbitration and litigation cases before various courts, including arbitral tribunals, PRC courts at various levels, and the Supreme People’s Court.

Jian Dong has represented clients in dozens of sophisticated cases in areas of company law, financing and investment, and in connection with corporate equity, shareholders’ and directors’ resolutions, the protection and recourse of investment, the breach of fiduciary duty by directors and officers, asset management, private fund investment, etc. In 2018, an arbitration case arising from contract disputes represented by Jian Dong was selected by the Legal Daily as the Top Ten Legal Service in the area of dispute resolution regarding “The Belt and Road”. From 2016 to 2017, Jian Dong defended a large fund corporation against investors in a series of cases in CIETAC, which were the first batch of disputes regarding open-ended index funds accepted by CIETAC.

Prior to joining in GLO, Jian Dong worked in a large financial investment group in China, providing legal advice for many large-scale projects, regarding mergers and acquisitions, private investment funds, asset management, trust, financial leasing, etc.
