Richard's experience covers most areas of banking and finance law, including domestic and cross-border financing, trade and export finance, capital market issues, secured and tax-structured financing and asset acquisition and general corporate financing. He is particularly experienced in the financing and commercial aspects of projects in Asia, having represented borrowers, sponsors and lenders in infrastructure, transport, energy, telecommunications and petrochemical projects, many of which required multi-source financing from domestic and international banks as well as from export credit and multilateral agencies. Richard has advised on the Hong Kong aspects of many bank mergers and reorganisations, including The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, Korea Exchange Bank, Hana Bank, Kookmin Bank and Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad.
