Elizabeth Davison

Position

Elizabeth is a partner in the firm’s Disputes & Investigations team. She represents a variety of financial institutions and commercial clients in high-value disputes and contentious regulatory and internal investigations.

Elizabeth’s litigation practice includes a focus on banking related misconduct, complex investment products and cross-border competition follow-on damages claims (including relating to benchmark manipulation). Elizabeth also has a strong advisory practice providing advice to clients on how to mitigate legal risks associated with significant market events (such as the effects of Covid-19 and Brexit) and regulatory developments (for example, the increased focus on firms’ culture and conduct).

Elizabeth is a member of the Law Society’s Private International Law sub-committee and regularly contributes as an industry expert on matters relating to civil justice (including governing law, jurisdiction, arbitration, process agency and sovereign immunity). In addition, she is interested in public law issues relating to the financial services industry.

Elizabeth enjoys exploring the positive effect developments in technology can have on the way in which legal services are provided to clients to maximise costs efficiency and accessibility. For example, she developed Disputes Aviator, an online risk management tool which won the Most Innovative Use of Technology’ at The Lawyer Awards and was shortlisted for an FT Innovation Award. Since then, she has continued to deliver smarter solutions for clients that draw on a diverse blend of legal and technical skills.
