Attorney Zhang Libin, a Senior Partner of King & Capital Law Firm in Beijing, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1997 with a J.D. degree and from the University of International Business and Economics in 1987 with a B.A. degree in Economics. Mr. Zhang is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and China, and has over 25 years of legal work experience in international law firms and multinational corporations. He started his legal career as an associate with Paul, Weiss (New York and Beijing) in 1997 and subsequently with White & Case (Shanghai) in 2000, mostly advising foreign clients in direct investment/joint venture projects in China. In 2006, Attorney Zhang joined Baker Botts as resident partner in its Beijing Office and advised foreign and Chinese clients in energy-related projects and cases. In 2010, he joined a prestigious Chinese law firm Broad & Bright, practicing Chinese law in assisting Chinese and foreign clients in energy sectors. In addition, he has held significant legal advisory positions at ABB (China) Ltd., Siemens, and has served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at ENN.

Mr. Zhang specializes in cross-border investment and mergers and acquisitions, international dispute resolution and compliance. He helped Chinese companies with their overseas investments (e.g., overseas investment projects of Chinese companies such as Xinjiang Guanghui, Sinochem Group, Shenergy Group, Beijing Energy Group, and ENN Group). He served as the Head of Legal M&A - Asia & Australia in Siemens and was well acquainted with Siemens’ compliance policy. He has also helped ENN Group, a large private Chinese company, to establish a compliance system. Mr. Zhang has been working in English for a long time. He has profound English and American law skills and contract drafting, negotiation and modification skills. He is meticulous in thinking and has strict control over the details and risks of transactions and contracts, and is extremely sensitive to the differences of cultural backgrounds and compliance with local laws in cross-border transactions. Over the years, Mr. Zhang has worked closely with overseas lawyers, accounting firms, investment banks and other organizations, and has accumulated a wealth of legal resources and contacts.
