Firm advises ANZ on strategic acquisition providing business customers with valuable analytics

MinterEllisonRuddWatts is delighted to have advised ANZ Group Holdings Limited (ANZ Group) on its agreement to acquire Wellington-based data analytics business, DOT Data Limited (trading as DOT Loves Data).

The proposed investment supports ANZ’s long-term ambition to provide valuable data insights to its business customers. It also aims to boost growth and development in the Wellington-based data analytics company.

DOT Loves Data offers a suit of proprietary analytics tools, which provide real-time strategic insights, to help a broad range of customers – from corporates to local government.

The deal will see ANZ New Zealand work closely with the team at DOT Loves Data to develop further its suite of tools.

Mark Forman led the law firm’s deal team which included Partners Richard Wells and Andrew Ryan, senior associates Marilyn Mrkusich, Joshua Kimpton and Phillip Chrisp, and Solicitor Brayden Print.

The team advised on all aspects of the transaction including due diligence, the sale and purchase agreement negotiation, detailed advice on data, privacy and tax matters, and completion of the transaction.
