Career
Huey Miin holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sheffield, England and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in October 1998 by The Honourable Society of Middle Temple. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1999 and joined the firm as a partner in 2014, already established as a practitioner in commercial and civil dispute resolution with a focus on commercial alternative dispute resolution.
Huey Miin has appeared as counsel in all first instance and appeal levels of the Malaysian courts and in arbitrations, both domestic and international, on disputes covering a diverse range of areas including energy, infrastructure, building and supply projects, capital markets transactions and joint ventures. He also sits as an arbitrator and adjudicator in construction disputes.
The 2024 edition of Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific named Huey Miin as a “Litigation Star”. He has also been recognised for his dispute resolution experience by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Global Arbitration Review’s GAR 100. A number of the reported cases he has to his credit involve arbitration-related issues of general importance.
Huey Miin is a Past President of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. He is on the “Approved Faculty List” of the United Kingdom’s Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) as a tutor and assessor for CIArb’s courses on arbitration, adjudication and mediation. He currently serves as a Trainer in the Malaysian Bar Council’s Advocacy Training course.
