Career

Ravindra obtained his degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of London in 1985 and the Certificate in Legal Practice issued by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board (established under the Legal Profession Act 1976) in 1986.  He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1987 and thereafter practised in Kuala Lumpur, handling litigation principally in the areas of insurance, motor accidents and probate, before joining the firm in December 1992.

Ravindra became a partner in 1999 and retired from the partnership in April 2024.

As a Consultant, Ravindra will continue his practice in employment law and industrial relations, both in the aspects of litigation as well as advisory work.   Over the last couple of decades, he has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian court hierarchy in dealing with employment cases, usually representing employers in unfair/constructive dismissal cases as well as in judicial review applications and injunction applications.

He is also experienced in advising on redundancy and retrenchment and the obligations arising therefrom, mutual separation agreements, employment contracts, employee handbooks and collective agreements.

Ravindra’s achievements have been recognized, with accolades given to him by reputable legal directories that include “Leading Individual”, “Leading Lawyer”, “Distinguished Practitioner” and “Litigation Star”.

He is presently the President of the Malaysian Society for Labour & Social Security Law and is also a Past Chairman of the Human Resource Committee of the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
