Career

Joyce graduated from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, in 1997 and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 1998.  She has been in practice in Malaysia since 1999 and became a partner of the firm in 2006.

Joyce handles various aspects of corporate and commercial work across a broad range of industry sectors (including healthcare and pharmaceutical, oil and gas, hospitality and real estate).  A significant portion of her practice consists of multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, business reorganisations, joint ventures and foreign direct investments. Joyce regularly leads project teams on such matters on behalf of multi-national clients (including those from Europe and key Asia Pacific jurisdictions).

Further, as the head of the firm’s corporate healthcare practice, she has been involved in various aspects of this industry from regulatory advisory to documentation, eg the management and operations of healthcare facilities; the practice of tele-medicine and tele-nursing; the launch of medical, health and/or wellness applications; the sale and registration of medical devices, and so on.
