Marievic Ramos-Añonuevo

Position

Marievic G. Ramos-Añonuevo has been in law practice for 34 years and has acquired substantial experience advising major local and foreign clients in the fields of banking, project finance, privatization, infrastructure, foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate rehabilitation and restructuring, securities, and land acquisition and development. She is a partner in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan.

Career

Ms. Ramos-Añonuevo worked on the financing of the Manila North Tollway Project involving the rehabilitation and expansion of the North Luzon Expressway, where she represented a syndicate of lending institutions that included multilateral and export credit agencies, and commercial banks. She also worked on the equity financing for the acquisition by National Grid Corporation of the Philippines of the concession to operate and rehabilitate the national transmission grid and sub-transmission assets of the National Transmission Corporation. Both projects helped earn international awards for the firm.

She represented various lending syndicates that extended financing for Metro Manila Skyway – Stage 3 Project (Php31 billion), the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Project (Php23.3 billion), the NAIA Expressway Project (Php7.5 billion), and the Solar Philippines Calatagan Project (Php3.2 billion).

Ms. Añonuevo has advised several banks that have extended financing to companies engaged in the development of condominium buildings, power plants, manufacturing plants, hotels and casinos and in mining activities. She has also participated in various capacities in mergers and acquisitions involving major banking institutions, public utilities in the telecommunications, gas, water and transportation sectors, as well as manufacturing and business process outsourcing companies and call centers. She currently sits as corporate secretary or assistant corporate secretary in more than 50 companies that are doing business in various sectors of industry in the Philippines, including pharmaceutical, banking and finance, advertising, manufacturing, real estate and property development, venture capital and retail and wholesale trading.

Education

Ms. Ramos-Añonuevo earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1983.
