Anthony Dee

Position

Mr. Dee is a partner in Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. He has represented clients at all court levels and has extensive litigation and arbitration experience.

Career

He has handled noteworthy eminent domain projects involving millions of dollars particularly in providing strategic and legal advice on expropriation of land and acquisition of rights-of-way. He also has considerable experience in corporate rehabilitation and rescues as well as in in trade law and customs regulation, including assisting clients in the settlement of negotiations with the Bureau of Customs.

He was the lead partner in a litigation for the recovery by one of the country’s largest real estate firms from the Philippine government of several prime properties worth billions of pesos. He also led the SyCipLaw team defending the country’s biggest power distributor against claims of anti-competitive conduct before the Philippine energy regulatory agency.

Memberships

Mr. Dee was the President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Makati Chapter, where he also previously served as vice president, director, public relations officer and secretary. He was an accredited lecturer on Pre-trial and Trial Skills in the Philippine Supreme Court’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education program.

He has done pro-bono litigation work for indigents as part of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Makati Chapter’s Legal Aid Program.

Education

Mr. Dee received his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor (second honor) degrees from Ateneo de Manila University. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996.
