Career

Frédéric Dereux is a partner in Gowling WLG's Commercial Law / Litigation department. He advises French and international companies and industrial groups on domestic and cross-border issues in their contractual, economic and commercial issues.

Frédéric has extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of economic and commercial relations, from the drafting of the contract, to its performance, until the termination of established commercial relations.

In particular, he has a renowned practice in the automotive, aerospace or aeronautical sectors, but also in the pharmaceutical, service industries, catering or press distribution sectors.

He is particularly involved in the resolution of issues relating to defective products, industrial subcontracting, restrictive and prohibited competition practices, distribution law and collective insolvency proceedings. He assists his clients in preventive matters but also in the judicial phase of the restructuring, whether it is a safeguarding, continuation plan or assignment procedure, assisting companies or groups involved in these procedures.

With his team, Frédéric covers the full range of advice, assistance and defence of companies in difficulty. Working in synergy with the firm's other teams, he is experienced in handling cases that are by nature sensitive.

Frédéric is a mediator at the French Mediation Centre for the Automotive sector (Centre de Médiation de la Filière Automobile).
