Ms. Roa was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2013 and joined the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice shortly thereafter.

She is a Partner of the Firm, focusing in the practice areas of Civil and Commercial Litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She leads teams of associate lawyers in managing anticipated crises, as well as high-value disputes pending before government agencies, courts and arbitral tribunals.

She also regularly renders advisory work for clients and foreign counsel on various matters relating to Contractual Breach, Engineering and Construction, Insurance, Corporate Rehabilitation and Insolvency, and Intra-Corporate Disputes.

Ms. Roa is the lead associate in the recent string of cases relating to a widely-publicized hostile management takeover of one of the country’s largest healthcare corporation and its subsidiaries, where the Firm successfully obtained a court injunction in favor of the new management. Her representative work for 2018 include: (a) representing a foreign investment group in negotiations with their local joint venture partners for a favorable divestment deal; (b) acting as counsel for a Philippine universal bank and its high-ranking officers in multiple court cases relating to a multi-million-dollar cross-border cyber-heist; and (c) advising on a billion-peso engineering insurance policy claim.

Ms. Roa has also done work on several pro bono cases, particularly under the legal aid program of the IBP Makati Chapter, including having acted as counsel de oficio in securing the reversal of a rape conviction from the appellate court.

Prior to her legal practice, Ms. Roa was with the non-profit sector for several years, where she focused on policy research, lobby and public campaigns work relating to water supply, privatization and utilities regulation.
