Career
Ramiro Rodriguez is a highly experienced international arbitration and cross-border transactions practitioner based in Singapore, where he serves as the Head of the International Arbitration practice at Duane Morris & Selvam LLP. He also plays a leading role in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions department.
Ramiro’s practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, the resolution of cross-border disputes, and special situations. He regularly acts as counsel in high-value proceedings under major arbitral institutions, including SIAC, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL, with a particular emphasis on disputes involving Southeast Asia, Latin America and the broader Asia-Pacific region. He has deep industry experience in oil and gas, renewable energy, receivables financing, fund management and other regulated activities.
Originally from Latin America, Ramiro has been based in Asia for over two decades and is qualified to practice law in the United Kingdom, Singapore (permitted areas of law) and Colombia. His multicultural background and international legal training make him especially skilled in handling disputes and transactions involving multiple legal systems and cross-border complexities.
Ramiro is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and is consistently recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a recommended lawyer in Corporate and M&A (2018–2022), Banking and Finance (2021–2022), and TMT (2018).
Ramiro has contributed thought leadership articles to a number of respected legal publications, including Global Arbitration Review (GAR), the International Comparative Legal Guides (ICLG) and The Legal 500.
He holds an LL.M. in Global Business Law from New York University, an LL.M. in Corporate and Financial Services Law from the National University of Singapore, a specialist degree in Banking Law from Universidad del Rosario, and an LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
