Career

Mr. Kong Hyun Lee is a Honorary Managing Partner of Jipyong and also heads the firm's Constitution Practice.

Mr. Lee is one of the most prominent figures in Korea's legal history and has led a distinguished career as one of the most influential members of the judiciary. In 2006, Mr. Lee was appointed Justice of the Constitutional Court and served as the country's representative to the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.

In March 2011, Mr. Lee was awarded Blue Stripes Order of Service Merit, the highest honor given to a public servant.

During his tenure as judge of various courts and Justice of the Constitutional Court from 1973 through 2011, Mr. Lee presided over countless seminal and high-profile cases of human rights, democracy, and due process. Mr. Lee was a Fulbright Fellow at Harvard Law School where he received an LLM degree in 1983.

Under Mr. Lee's leadership, the firm enjoys an unparalleled record and reputation in constitutional litigation, legislative practice, cross-border disputes, and human rights issues.

Mr. Lee currently serves in various advisory committees, bar associations, and counsel boards including the Advisory Committee of the Constitutional Court and the Future Consensus Institute. He is a frequent lecturer and writer on issues concerning constitutional law, democratic process, and social justice.
