Stephen Panton
Stephen is a partner in the regulatory team. His practice encompasses all aspects of health and safety environmental, food safety and food hygiene.
Stephen has particular expertise in advising organisations in a range of sectors on investigations and prosecutions by the police and HSE, including for suspected corporate manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter offences, the Environment Agency, SEPA and National Resources Wales arising from pollution events, waste duty of care breaches and permitting non-compliance. Other areas of specialism include appeals against Notices, statutory nuisance and private nuisance, Inquests, statutory and non-statutory Inquiries, and consumer protection, particularly the sale of suspected counterfeit merchandise and confiscation proceedings brought under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. He regularly appears as an advocate before the criminal Courts, Inquests and employment tribunals on health and safety matters.
