Asido M. Panjaitan

Career

Mr. Panjaitan, a partner of the firm since 2006 graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is currently in charge as the Practice Group Leader of (i) Commercial Disputes Resolution and (ii) Capital Market, Banking and Finance.

He had experienced as a coordinator as well as a team member in drafting and preparing transactional documents in connection with LDD reports which required in the commercial transactions, as a legal consultant and negotiator of one of the big Portuguese Company in the Republic Democratic of East Timor (“RDTL”) (2002-2004) and as a legal consultant of Australian Bank Company in RDTL (2003). In regards with these works, he has been appointed by international as well as real property companies in relation to among others: (i) land acquisitions and relinquishments, (ii) titling and strata title, (iii) BOT and other real property structured transactions, (iv) restructuring of real property complex, and (v) industrial estate related transactions.

He had experienced a practical experience in dealing with complex debt restructuring transaction and drafting Restructuring Agreement and Security Documents, such as follows: (i) Corporate Guarantee, (ii) Personal Guarantee, (iii) Fiduciary Agreement, (iv) Deed of Acknowledgement of Indebtedness, and (v) Deed of Mortgage.

He had a practical experience in handling employment issues and contracts, such as follows: (i) Company Regulation, (ii) termination and/or dismissal of employee(s), (iii) social security right of the employee - Jamsostek (BPJS) issues, (iv) Bi-party and Tri-party negotiation, (v) legal proceeding in connection with an employment dispute such as: Regional Committee of Labor Settlement Dispute (P4D), Central Committee of Labor Settlement Dispute (P4P) as well as legal proceeding in front of the industrial relation court.

Mr. Panjaitan has been acknowledged by Legal 500 as Recommended Lawyer in Shipping. He also has published his articles in the following reputable publications: (i) one of the contributors to the Indonesian Chapter on “Arbitration” published by Geting the Deal Through – Law Business Research (2018), (ii) one of the contributors to the Indonesian Chapter on “Enforcement of Foreign Judgement” published by Geting the Deal Through – Law Business Research (2017), (iii) contributor on “Construction & Real Estate” to Expert Guide (2015), (iv) one of the contributors to the Indonesian Chapter on “Labour & Employment in 39 Jurisdictions Worldwide” published by Geting the Deal Through – Law Business Research (2014), (v) contributor to the Indonesian Chapter on “International Arbitration 2006: A Practical Insight to Cross-Border International Arbitration Work” – Global Legal Group (2006).
