Mehtab is a managing associate within the firm's Middle East maritime, trade and offshore department. Her practice spans globally, focusing on both contentious and non-contentious matters in shipping, commodities, trade and energy (specifically oil and gas), as well as ports and terminals.
Mehtab, admitted as an English qualified Barrister and Solicitor since 2011, is registered to practice as a lawyer with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department since 2017.
Mehtab regularly handles a wide range of disputes before the English High Court, UAE Courts and DIFC Courts, including arbitration under the LMAA, GAFTA, DIAC rules. She also has extensive experience in working with lawyers across various jurisdictions and manages cross-border proceedings on her client's behalf.
Mehtab frequently advises on disputes arising out of terminal services agreements, shipping contracts, including charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, and other contracts of carriage, as well as disputes arising out of collisions and allisions for clients including, insurers, ship operators, charterers, traders, port and terminal operators.
Mehtab has a wealth of experience advising on and drafting commercial transactions, international trade contracts, including trade specific agreements, standard form contracts, terms and conditions and storage contracts. She also has extensive experience in cross-jurisdictional disputes and regularly advises clients on multi-jurisdictional issues.
